LTL

Less Than Truckload): Means "less than a full truck." It is used when the shipment does not completely fill a truck's space, so it is shared with other shipments from different clients. This is usually more profitable for small cargo volumes, as costs are divided among several shippers. It is ideal for medium-sized loads. Some of its main characteristics: Partial Loads: Combines several shipments from different clients in one truck, ideal for those who don't have enough merchandise to fill a complete truck. Shared Costs: By using shared space, transportation cost is divided among several clients, reducing expenses compared to an FTL (Full Truckload) shipment. Volume Flexibility: Allows shipping small loads, generally between 68 kg and 9,000 kg, without having to wait to complete a larger order. Predetermined Routes: LTL trucks follow fixed routes, picking up and delivering at various destinations, which can generate longer transit times. Multiple Stops: Since the truck makes deliveries for several clients, it can make multiple stops before reaching its final destination. Tracking and Consolidation: Shipment tracking and cargo consolidation are offered to efficiently manage different deliveries. Less Urgent: Ideal for shipments that don't require immediate delivery, as transit can be slower compared to FTL. Sustainable Use: Maximizes truck capacity, reducing the number of vehicles on roads, helping to decrease environmental impact. It is an efficient and economical option for sending partial loads, allowing cost sharing, resource optimization, and environmental impact reduction. Although it may involve longer transit times, its flexibility and sustainability make it an ideal solution for companies with non-urgent shipping needs or smaller volumes.
